Recycled Papermaking
This program is an exciting, hands-on way for kids to learn how recycled-content paper is made. Together, we mimic the process of industrial recycled paper-making but using our own energy! Each participant will make their own recycled paper to take home to color and decorate as they please. Participants will learn vocabulary such as, hydro-pulping and slurry.
Recycled Papermaking can be a program on its own or be paired with the 3R’s program. This program can be a teacher modeling activity: The teacher observes while we lead the first program. Teachers are then able to borrow the SCARCE papermaking supplies to make recycled paper again with their class.
