Keep valuable materials out of the landfill while providing kids, teachers, and community members with educational supplies they need to succeed. Everything you do at SCARCE will help protect our air, soil, and water.

Rescue Project Rockstar
Sort supplies and stock our shelves — perfect for people who love to organize.
Library Clerk
Organize and shelve fiction and non-fiction reading books. Teachers, librarians, or avid readers wanted!
Warehouse Warrior
Unload vehicles, move boxes of books, recycle paper and cardboard. This is a position for those who like to keep moving and think on their feet!
Community Collection Leader (Saturday mornings March through September)
Collect items for SCARCE at community recycling events. On Saturday mornings in the spring and fall seasons, we need volunteers to help us gather supplies and transport them back to SCARCE.
Opportunities:

Monday through Friday One morning (9am-noon) OR afternoon (1-4pm) per week

We are currently welcoming fully vaccinated individuals 14+ years of age who can volunteer 2-3 hours per week at our facility. You can sort supplies, stock our bookshelves, help with recycling, and assist teachers who visit our facility. Please complete the volunteer application at the bottom of this page to apply.

Weekend opportunities

Volunteers 14+ years of age are needed to help at these community events:

  • Saturday, August 13 8:45am-12:15pm (outdoor) – Wheaton monthly electronics recycling
  • Saturday, September 10 8:45am-12:15pm (outdoor) – Wheaton monthly electronics recycling
