Green STEM: Water Dynamics
Class offered for DuPage County teachers on Friday, February 28, 2020. Registration opens in December.
Submerge yourself for a day in the dynamic world of water management in DuPage County. Witness STEM in action through three site visits where we learn from experts-on-the-job. Then follow it up with hands-on training with classroom tools from SCARCE staff.
First stop: the DuPage Water Commission to learn the complex route water takes to reach our taps. Next we head to the Elmhurst Quarry to learn from DuPage County engineers how they manage stormwater to prevent local flooding. Then on the Urban Stream Research Center where aquatic species recovery takes place.
We’ll wrap up with SCARCE’s award-winning Enviroscape Watershed Model. By the end, you’ll be certified to reserve them for use in your classroom.
Recommended for any grade level.
