Will County and Lewis University have partnered for the 5th annual Will County collection of pumpkins for recycling. Students, parents, and residents are encouraged to pitch their pumpkins and gourds! Naked Pumpkins & gourds only! No candles, bags or boxes! (Limit 5 pumpkins per person). Everyone is invited to bring their carved or painted pumpkins to Lewis University’s “W” parking lot.

• Lewis Physics Club will provide catapults!
• The Farm Bureau and Univ of IL Ext office will share composting info
• Document Destruction service will also be offered
• Electronics will be collected from 8am-Noon for Recycling! (Limit 2 TVs per vehicle)

This is a chance for a decorative natural item to be recycled, as all the pumpkins collected will be taken to a site to be composted. Eventually they will become a highly nutritious soil supplement, feeding future crops, gardens – or perhaps a new pumpkin patch!  Be part of the fun and bring your family or friends to see who can pitch their pumpkin the furthest!
