Congratulations to the Wheaton Public Library for earning their Earth Flag and their Water Quality Flag.  A Flag Ceremony was held at their board meeting on June 20th.  Kay McKeen, Executive Director of SCARCE, along with DuPage County Board Members Tony Michelassi, Grant Eckhoff, Amy Grant & Karyn Romano presented the flags to the Library Board and staff.

The library staff worked hard to earn both flags simultaneously.  The staff received training on reducing waste and water quality.  The library offered two resident programs on the environment and dedicated an area for resources on water quality.  The library also ran a month long display of different types of rain barrels for residents to view.  They even raffled one off!  The Wheaton Public Library really did a great job of involving the entire community in their efforts.

SCARCE is so proud of their friends at the Wheaton Public Library!
