Welcome to our new volunteer blog. Here you will find information about volunteer opportunities, profiles of some of our volunteers, and updates on how volunteers are helping SCARCE achieve its mission. To volunteer at SCARCE, just complete our short on-line volunteer application and then give us a call at 630-545-9710 during our regular business hours (Monday – Friday  9:00am – 4:30pm). Currently, we need volunteers to help us sort books, school supplies, and crayons. We have tons of items and need to get them onto the shelves for visiting teachers. You’ll feel good when you see teachers eagerly gathering supplies that otherwise would have gone to a landfill. If you have spare time and would like to help, please contact us today. College and high school students, we welcome you!

In June, the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton’s Vacation Bible School Service Squad visited SCARCE.  The students sorted a mountain of crayons and recycled boxes of dirty or broken binders.  We were impressed with their hard work and cheerful attitudes.  Thanks so much!
