Volunteer at the Back to School Fair

Each year, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet hosts a Back To School Fair in DuPage County. The fair provides goods and services to low-income families in DuPage County. At the fair, SCARCE gives away thousands of new and gently used reading and reference books to children in grades K-12. The children are so excited when they see our selection of books!

We have been preparing all year for this event, saving books from many genres and in several languages. The children who visit our table frequently have book requests and we try to grant their wishes. You can help us participate in this meaningful event by distributing books at the fair. The only requirements are a positive attitude and comfortable shoes. We are seeking volunteers for the following shift:

Wednesday, August 3rd:

4:00pm – 7:00pm
