Watershed Workshop for Scout Leaders

January 5, 2017 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm CST

watershed-model
What is a watersheds?  Why is it important to protect them?

There are three major watersheds in DuPage County – which one do you live in? You’ll be able to answer these questions and more after attending this free, hands-on workshop. You will use the watershed model to understand how what we do at home has an impact downstream.

The watershed model gives scout leaders hands on exposure to water issues and demonstrates how a variety of human activities affect our water quality.  This award-winning model teaches about pollution prevention, citizenship, watersheds, landforms, and ecosystems.  Leaders will also learn about water quality, stream monitoring, soil erosion, native plants, stormwater, and surface water.

Gain knowledge and confidence to help your scouts learn about water issues. SCARCE can help inspire your group with activities to protect our water and environment.
