Kay McKeen, founder and director of SCARCE, was awarded the 2017 Nonprofit Executive of the Year by the West Suburban Philanthropic Network  (WSPN) at their 10th Annual Philanthropy Awards luncheon on May 23rd, 2017.

Nonprofit Executive of the Year is presented to a senior-level nonprofit executive who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing the mission and services of his or her organization for the benefit of residents in the western suburbs.  We were honored to have Sandy Gbor, Executive Director of  Western DuPage Special Recreation Association present Kay with the award.

Each year, the organization honors individuals, foundations and corporations for their philanthropic leadership. Awards were presented before more than 300 guests at the Embassy Suites in Naperville.  The SCARCE Board of Directors and staff are so proud of Kay and all that she does to tirelessly promote sustainability and environmental education in our communities.
