Holiday Light Recycling Locations 2020/2021
Oct 30 2020

‘Tis the season of holiday light recycling programs! As you deck the halls, set aside your broken, tangled, or unwanted holiday light strands to be recycled for free at one of the many drop-off locations below.
During last year’s holiday light recycling drives, programs in DuPage County collectively recycled 36,765lbs. Since the program began in 2009, it has diverted 449,765lbs of holiday lights from landfills.
If you need to replace lights, opt for energy efficient LED strands or ENERGY STAR certified lights – and, of course, be sure to use a timer for those lights so they only shine when you can see them. Want to learn more about the Holiday Light Recycling Program including how the lights are recycled? Click here to learn how it’s done. Otherwise, scroll down for this year’s drop-off locations.

Thank you to Elgin Recycling for partnering to offer this program! View the flyer below (coming soon) to learn more about how to get your municipality, school, or organization involved.
