Due to Increased Costs, Shredded Paper Recycling Discontinued
Jan 31 2020
Due to increased recycling costs, SCARCE must discontinue our shredded paper recycling service, effective immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Residents interested in recycling shredded paper are encouraged to bring their documents for shredding to a local event or a retail outlet that offers paper shredding services such as UPS or Staples.
Remove Non-Usable Papers Before Donating
Further, we kindly request you remove any unusable papers and recycle them at home before bringing in donations.
Please remove non-usable papers such as:
- notebook pages with writing on them
- old documents in folders or files
- damaged folders, notebooks, and notepads
- copies of worksheets or coloring pages
- magazines (besides National Geographics less than 5 years old)
- homemade items
We appreciate your help in keeping costs down. As a small non-profit, every little bit helps. Our book rescue and resource center runs on a tight budget and depends on donations from supporters like you. If you would like to support our reuse and recycling efforts, please consider making a monetary donation.
