Recycle electronics, liquid cooking oil, scrap metal, fluorescent tube lights (no CFL’s), and clothing & household textiles at this monthly event. Open to any DuPage County resident. Review details below:
Date: Second Saturday of each month
Time: 9am-Noon
Location: Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W Liberty Drive, Wheaton (near the Wheaton Police Department)
Safety Protocols:
- All items must be in the trunk. Volunteers cannot enter the main cabin of the vehicle.
- Do not exit your vehicle after entering.
- All textiles should be placed in a clean plastic bag and small electronics should be in a cardboard box. Loose textiles and small electronic items will not be accepted.
- Cooking oils should be in a sealed container. Container will not be returned to you.
- Participants who are experiencing any respiratory illness or have ill family members are asked to stay home.

*Tax-deductible donation fee applies for all televisions and monitors:
- $25 per TV/monitor with screens smaller than 21 inches
- $35 per TV/monitor with screens 21 inches and larger
eWorks Electronic Services Inc. will accept cash (bring exact cash) or credit card payments at the drop-off (no checks), or you can prepay at using the eWorks Online Payment Portal. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt at the time of drop-off.
Not Accepted
DVDs, video/audio cassettes
Large home appliances/white goods (stoves, washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, extra-large wooden-box speakers)
Electronics from businesses
Hazardous and chemical waste (mercury-containing devices, thermostats, thermometers, smoke detectors, liquids and gases)
CFL light bulbs
Batteries (household batteries are accepted at STAPLES)
Accepted Items for Textile Recycling
- Clothing
- Shoes
- Accessories (belts, hats, scarves, etc.)
- Sheets and bedding (no pillows)
- Towels
- Toys
- Purses
- Rags
- Other household textiles
All clothing and textiles must be bagged. Items may be in any condition, however, no items with motor oil or oil-based paint/wood stains are accepted.
