Temporarily Not Accepting School Supply Donations

Due to a wildly busy spring and summer of donations here at SCARCE, we will temporarily not be accepting donations of school or office supplies, science equipment, and math manipulatives. Book donations will still be accepted during this time.

In the meantime, please check our list of accepted items before bringing items in for donation. As always, donations must be packed in boxes and donations of 5 or more boxes must call 630-545-9710 to schedule an appointment.

Books & Supplies Available for Schools & Non-Profits

During this time, books and supplies are still available for teacher or non-profit organizations to come and get from our book rescue. We’ve got tons of supplies, science equipment and math manipulatives! Help us reach more schools and make room for future supply donations by sharing with your contacts on Facebook, Instagram, twitter, or email. The more items we can re-circulate to local organizations, the more items we can accept.

We sincerely appreciate your support and are grateful for your understanding!

It all comes down to space…

The past six months or so we have received massive amounts of school supplies, office supplies, math manipulatives and science equipment. These items take up a lot of space in our warehouse and can be very time-consuming to sort (we’re looking at you loose paper clips and thumbtacks!). The double-whammy is, we don’t have a lot of space to put items out for teachers, especially bulkier items like math manipulatives and science equipment. This in turn slows down the process of getting them back out the door to schools – if teachers don’t see the items, how can they take them?

All that to say, it’s a tricky situation but we are hoping to get through the backlog of supplies within the next month and resume accepting supply donations after that time. Please stay tuned!

Our donation center jam-packed with boxes of donated supplies.
