Back to School Fair

Helping DuPage County kids get ready for school

Every August SCARCE gives out gently used books and new school supplies to children from low income families in DuPage County at the Catholic Charities Back to School Fair.

Donations of books and school supplies to our book rescue and tools for schools projects are the primary source of the materials provided.

 

 

There are a variety of ways you can help:

  1. Donate gently used books or unopened school supplies.  Books should be in excellent condition and school supplies should be new.
  2. Pack up and transport books on the day before the event.
  3. Distribute books and school supplies at the fair.  Help children of all ages find books to take home.
  4. Help organize materials before the fair and clean up after the fair.
  5. Make a donation to support our efforts!  Preparing for this impactful event is a year-round effort.
