SCARCE’s annual Green Fair made a come-back Sunday, October 23rd. Over 40 green vendors along with a handful of performances from local choirs and dance groups filled the DuPage County Fairgrounds main building with chatter, music, learning, and fun! Live chickens from the 4H Club and WTTW’s Nature Cat were big crowd pleasers, especially among the young – and young at heart.

Wood-fired pizzas and solar popcorn filled bellies and awesome green-goods checked off holiday shopping lists!

SCARCE kept the event green by recycling and composting waste and educating attendees on green practices. Local environmental groups educated on native plants monarchs and more! Five lucky attendees went home with prizes including a rain barrel and a worm compost bin.

SCARCE would like to thank our gold-level sponsors Now Foods and Bridgestone Firestone. We’d also like to thank all the sponsors and vendors involved and we look forward to the next one! A shout out to PSAV for help with the A/V system and to volunteers that helped the day go smoothly, including family, friends and a crew of COD students.

If you didn’t stop by this year, we hope you’ll join us next year for an even better Green Fair!
