Earth Friendly Products Awarded Earth Flag

Earth Friendly Products of Addison was awarded the Earth Flag from SCARCE and DuPage County on October 30th. The environmentally-friendly cleaning product company earned the certification for a variety of eco-friendly practices they employ including achieving Zero Waste Facility Platinum Certification, a 312-panel rooftop solar array, as well as a composting program for food scraps, sourcing recycled content office supplies, fume-free and no-idling policies to protect clean air, and hosting teachers and community members for tours of their sustainable facility. Great work!

DuPage Water Commission Receives National Award

The DuPage Water Commission (DWC) received the 2019 Gold Award for Exceptional Utility Performance, one of the nation’s top honors for public water agencies. The award is presented by the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies. The DWC was recognized thanks to outstanding performance in areas including finances, proactive operations and maintenance, and water sustainability. The DuPage Water Commission recently earned an Earth Flag and a Water Quality Flag from SCARCE and DuPage County. The agency also frequently partners with SCARCE to offer immersive water education for local teachers and students. SCARCE supports the commission’s efforts to help DuPage County residents conserve water by providing rain gauges, toilet leak detection kits, and shower timers during educational programs and at community events.
