More Accepted Items:
- Textiles: clothing, towels, bedding & shoes. Items MUST be in a plastic bag
- Syringes & EpiPens: household generated medical sharps (needles, syringes, lancets, etc) in a thick plastic container.
- Medications: prescription and non-prescription. Empty all pills into one zip-top bag. No packaging.
- Paper Shredding: Strict 3 box limit (standard copier paper/bankers size boxes).
- Remove binders, rubber bands, plastic page protectors, plastic bags, plastic file tabs, CDs and other hard items (they are fire hazard for shred truck! Staples and Paper Clips do not need to be removed.
- Scrap Metal: such as pots, pans, tomato cages, metal lawn furniture, metal hangers etc
- Bikes, bike parts and accessories (helmets, working pumps, parts etc)
- Brita water filters & pitchers (Brita brand only)
- Books – storybooks, novels, textbooks etc
- Music records (LPs, 45s, 78s)
- Musical Instruments & sheet music
- Eyeglasses & hearing aids
- X-ray, MRI, and Lithographic Film – no envelopes, remove personal info/paper documents
- Latex Paint recycling (fees apply)
- Latex paint = $2.50/quart, $5/gallon, $18/5-gallon container (cash or credit card accepted)
- Aerosol products $1/can (credit card only) View full list of accepted aerosol cans.
- Sealed Lead-Acid Batteries (car, boat, motorcycle, sump pump)
- Propane tanks (including those for grills or camp stoves)
- Liquid vegetable cooking oil (no animal fats/grease)
- Ink jet cartridges – No toners.
Not Accepted
No air conditioners, cassettes/VHS/DVDs/CDs, Hazardous Waste, household chemicals, large home appliances, liquids or gases, mercury-containing devices, smoke detectors, thermometers/thermostats, white goods.
General Info
Recycling Extravaganzas are drive through recycling and reuse events. Residents can load up their car and volunteers unload the items they wish to recycle or donate. Participation is free unless otherwise noted.
