Villa Park Spring Sweep Recycling Extravaganza

May 18, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm CDT

 

Where: Traffic for the event will flow down Home Ave., entering at the intersection of Harvard Ave. and Home Ave., and exiting towards Ardmore Ave. (Use 42 W. Home Ave. as a general starting point).

FREE to Villa Park residents, fee will apply for paint recycling. Non-residents are welcome but fees apply for document shredding, electronics and paint recycling.

FEES

Non-residents will be charged a flat $35 fee that covers both electronics recycling and paper shredding. Paint recycling fees are separate and listed below.

ACCEPTED ITEMS:
  • Bicycles
  • Books, CD’s and DVD’s
  • Cardboard
  • Clothing
  • Document Shredding (RESIDENTIAL ONLY, maximum 3 bankers-size boxes)
  • Electronic Waste – VP Residents Only
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Housewares
  • Ink and Toner Cartridges
  • Latex and Oil-Based Paints – Fee will apply, cash or credit card accepted
  • Musical Instruments
  • Paper for Recycling (Not Shredding)
  • Shoes

Fees for paint recycling are as follows:

Latex-Based Paints Oil-Based Paints and Stains
Quart $1 per can $4 per can
1 Gallon $3 per can $8 per can
5 Gallon $10 per pail $20 per pail

 

General Info

Recycling Extravaganzas are drive through recycling and reuse events. Residents can load up their car and then relax as volunteers unload the items they wish to recycle or donate. Events are held Saturday mornings.
