2017 Sustainable Design Challenge

Join SCARCE for the 11th Annual Sustainable Design Challenge. This event challenges students to design a building model of their choice with the latest in sustainable features. Students have the opportunity to present their project to professionals from green design fields and compete for top scores in three areas: Best Overall LEED Design, Best Stormwater Management Design, and Best Energy Efficiency Design. Projects will be on display and open to the public from 9am-11am. Download the Flier
Who: Teams of DuPage County high school students are invited to tackle this challenge.
Goal: Design and construct a model of a building that meets LEED criteria for sustainable buildings. Students will be evaluated on their sustainable features and on presentation skills and professionalism.
The day of the event, students will have the opportunity to:
- Present their models to judges and the public
- Learn about green infrastructure at the DuPage County Complex
- Talk with local professionals involved in sustainability including engineers, architects, and landscape designers

Team Registration Deadline: March 16th.
Awards will be presented at the DuPage County Board meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, May 9th.
