Keep your personal information safe with this free Shred Event! This event is held in conjunction with the annual Pumpkin Pitch at Lewis University, a part of the annual statewide Pumpkin Smash initiative. Bring documents for shredding and jack-o-lanterns for catapulting! Staff from Will County will be joined by the Farm Bureau and Univ of IL Ext office to measure distance and offer prizes! Physics students will be offering a catapult option to add some thrills.

Naked Pumpkins Only! No candles, bags or boxes!

Limit of five pumpkins per person.

Shredding instructions: Remove all non-paper items* as they are a fire hazard, including:

– plastic bags or wrap
— binders
– report covers
– paper clips
– plastic page protectors
– CDs/DVDs
– credit cards

*staples do not need to be removed

Items you can shred include: tax information and returns, investment records and statements, bank statements, cancelled checks, paycheck stubs, ATM and credit card receipts, credit card statements, insurance, utility bills and other household financial information, personal documents and pictures.
