Event Navigation
Rachel Carson caused a huge shift in how we relate to the natural world. She was an academic, an environmental activist, biologist, and author. Her book “Silent Spring”, published in 1962, helped launch the environmental movement. Her work helped ban the chemical DDT, contributed to the formation of the EPA, and ultimately, the Clean Air and Water Acts.
