Propane Power in the Preserves and Vehicle Ride & Drive
August 2, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm CDT
| Free
The Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition, along with the Propane Education & Research Council, is inviting fleet managers, vehicle providers, and equipment manufacturers to attend a clean-vehicle seminar and propane vehicle ride-and-drive on Thursday, Aug. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Sagawau Environmental Learning Center in Lemont, Illinois.
The event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the benefits of using clean-burning propane to power vehicles, as well as those who currently own or operate a propane autogas fleet. Propane autogas has a proven track record of success in a wide variety of vehicle applications, including school transportation, public and private transit, delivery services, law enforcement, and work trucks.
Globally, propane autogas is the most widely-used alternative fuel, and nearly 90 percent of propane supplies are produced in the U.S. Fleets can significantly reduce greenhouse gas, NOx, and SOx emissions compared to diesel and gasoline, while also cutting fuel and maintenance costs, too.
Speakers at the event will include:
- Aaron DeWeese of the Illinois Propane Gas Association
- Representatives from the Propane Education & Research Council
- Stag USA (Topic: Vehicle conversions)
- Forest Preserves of Cook County (Topic: The Forest Preserves experiences using propane-powered vehicles)
There is no cost to attend the day’s program and lunch will be served.
