This program is offered by The Gardenworks Project – a local non-profit promoting organic gardening to fight food insecurity in our community – and Prairie Food Co-op – a community co-operative grocery store to be established in Lombard.
Late summer is the perfect time to renew your enthusiasm for gardening and plant a variety of crops that grow well in fall. Join Rachel Reklau of Sweet Home Organics to learn how to maximize your growing season and learn tips for big late-season garden harvests.
The GardenWorks Project is pleased to present this class in collaboration with Prairie Food Co-op Community Grocery, a community-owned grocery store dedicated to strengthening our economy and creating a marketplace for local, organic food.

They support all gardeners in their efforts to grow and prepare food for themselves and their neighbors in need. SCARCE has provided gently used gardening tools and materials, collected from the community, to help The Gardenworks Project achieve their mission.
