Open to teachers from DuPage County schools only. Earn 5 PDs.
Submerge yourself in the dynamic world of sustainability! We will spend the day diving into environmental issues we face in our community and sustainable solutions for addressing them. Learn methods to protect our water, conserve energy, restore our soils, and preserve our natural resources. We will also explore emerging careers in the field of sustainability.
This fast-paced STEM class is packed with resources, hands-on activities, and ideas for the classroom. Activities and concepts are NGSS-aligned and appropriate for multiple grade levels. This class will answer environmental questions, encourage deeper exploration of environmental topics and provide practical and personal connections with the world around you.
The class will include:
- live presentations
- peer collaboration
- interactive discussions
- guided tours at relevant DuPage County locations which are only sometimes open to the public.
There is a $30 fee for bus transportation.
Doors open at 8:00 a.m. to sign in as required by the ROE. Classes begin promptly at 8:30am.
