America Recycles Day

November 15, 2016

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on of November, repeating indefinitely

America’s recycling rate has increased over the last 30 years but with only 34% of recyclables ending up in a blue bin,  we have a lot of improvement that can be made. Help increase recycling rates by highlighting it through a recycling pledge, hosting, or attending an event. Recycling saves resources such as trees as well as energy and water compared to goods made from new material.

Organize a litter clean-up, recycle items you find, and tag yourself with #pickup5 or make a pledge to improve recycling at home, work, or school. Consider contacting SCARCE to schedule a  program on  the 3Rs, to conduct a waste audit in your school, or to start working towards earning your Earth Flag!

We’d love to see what you do! Send us photos and we’ll share them! Your group could be a featured Eco-Extraordinaire.
